Linda Ann Johnson

July 26, 1946 — September 30, 2023

Pendleton

Linda Ann (Miller) Johnson, 77, of Pendleton, passed away peacefully at her home on September 30, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Linda was born July 26, 1946 in Beaver Dam, Kentucky to Anna Helen (Leach) Miller and James E. Miller. After marrying her husband, Walter R. Johnson, they moved to Clearwater, Florida. Linda and Walter loved to go on cruises and short “just to get away” trips, as well as taking multiple trips to Indiana each year to visit her beloved children and grandchildren. She also became very active in their Retirement Community. Linda served as President of the Condo Board as well as the Ladies of Seville Social Committee, hosting many luncheons, card parties, dinners, and events for the residents of Seville.

While in Clearwater, Linda enjoyed spending time with her friends in the Red Hat Society, her ladies bowling league, as well as reading, and listening to audiobooks. After Walter’s passing she returned to Indiana and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her loving family; daughters, Joani (Matt) Jenkins and Jacki (Dave) Leonard, son Jason Tuck; granddaughters, Nikki (Zach Sterrett) Scruggs, Ashley (Chris Sanders) Jenkins, and Abby Jenkins; grandsons, Michael Sean Middleton, Benjamin Spangler, and Jonathon Leonard; as well as great-granddaughter Phoenix Hull. She is also survived by her brothers, James Miller and Joseph (Penny) Miller, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to James Miller for all his help with our mom during her illness. Uncle Jim was a blessing to us all helping with doctor appointments, errands and countless visits with mom. We cannot thank you enough.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Karen Atkins; and her beautiful daughter, Julie Shae Middleton.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Clearwater, Florida where family will lay Linda to rest with her beloved husband. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
