Listen to Obituary

Lawrence Alexander was born September 14, 1982 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the youngest of three children born to Earl and Lydia Alexander. “Boo” as his family fondly called him.

Lawrence (Boo) attended elementary school at Burnside Academy and graduated valedictorian from John F. Kennedy High School in June of 2000.

Lawrence’s work experience varies across many positions, such as: manager at Game Stop and Smoothie King, a cashier at Corner Bakery, a Sales Representative at Just the Scent Of It, Payday Loan, New Balance and Zales, a delivery driver for Panera Bread and Instacart and a host of others. As you can see, Lawrence was always on the move. A true mover and shaker.

One bright sunny day in February, while Lawrence was working at River Oaks Mall in Calumet City, Illinois, he gasped as a young lady walked by. His eyes widened as he stared out the store window. The young lady noticed, giggled, turned around and walked into the store. On February 2, 2007, he married the young lady, Aisha Fitzpatrick. To this union two daughters were born: Zarya Rhianna and Tiarah Lesli.

Lawrence loved helping others, especially his friends. However, his true passion was playing video games and listening to music. He was in every sense of the word a “gamer.” He also indulged in watching anime (Japanese animation) while sipping Dunkin Donuts coffee. Additionally, he dabbled a little in the culinary arts, preparing different cuisines and frequented new and upcoming restaurants.

On Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the young age of 42, Lawrence passed away. He leaves to cherish his memory with his wife of 18 years: Aisha Scherrie Alexander, daughters: Zarya Rhianna Alexander and Tiarah Lesli Alexander, Mother-in-law: Virdean Fitzpatrick (Aisha), Father-in-law: Charles Newsome (Aisha), Mother: Lydia Alexander, Father: Earl Alexander, Sister: Tracy Devon Alexander-Hoskins, Brother-in-law: Nicholas Hoskins (Tracy), Niece: Azhya Hoskins (Tracy), Brother: William Earl Alexander and a host of relatives and friends.
