Larry Eugene Wehr

Larry Eugene Wehr, a devoted family man, cherished community member, and proud veteran, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026. Born on September 19, 1942, in Indianapolis, IN, Larry's life was marked by dedication, humor, and an enduring generosity of spirit.

Larry graduated from high school and went on to serve his country with honor in both the Navy and the Air Force. He proudly served in both the Navy and the Air Force, with his military tenure including deployment to Vietnam from 1969 to 1970. His service also afforded him the unique opportunity to travel to distant and remarkable places such as Morocco and Antarctica, experiences that enriched his perspective and character. His commitment to service extended beyond the military; he was known for his work as a barber, where his quick-witted humor and kind nature endeared him to many.

A man deeply anchored in faith, Larry was a faithful servant and volunteer at Northern Park Baptist Church in Greenwood, IN. He loved his family and church profoundly, finding joy and purpose in giving back to his community. This devotion was reflected not only in his volunteer work but also in the warmth and strength of his relationships.

Larry was married to his beloved wife Joann Wehr for 44 years, a partnership that stood as one of his proudest accomplishments. Together, they nurtured a loving family.

He is survived by Joann, his son Ryan (Rachel) Wehr of Tulsa, OK, and his grandchildren Harrison, Harper, and Heidi, who carry forward his legacy of love and kindness.

He was preceded in death by his father Harold Wehr, his mother Jenny James Wehr, his sister, and a son.

A visitation will be held on March 30, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Northern Park Baptist Church, located at 598 N Meridian St, Greenwood, IN 46143. The funeral service will follow from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the same location.
