Larry W. Schlichter

Larry W. Schlichter of Greenwood, IN passed away unexpectedly on June 27, 2026 at the age of 77. Larry was born in Fort Wayne, IN to John and Betty Schlichter, and was the eldest of three children. He was a graduate of South Side High School, Sams Technical Institute and ITT Technical Institute. Larry worked many years in Fort Wayne as an Electronics Technician for Magnavox, Raytheon and ITT, retiring in 2011. He married the love of his life, Cindy, in 1980 and they had 46 wonderful years and two beloved children together. In his spare time, Larry enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and using his electronics knowledge to add lights to crafts, décor, and costumes for his grandchildren. He also greatly enjoyed supporting his grandkids’ hobbies by attending their many recitals, competitions and matches, spoiling his rescue cats, and traveling with Cindy – they were fortunate to take many road trips and cruises together in their golden years.

“Pop” will be fondly remembered and missed by his wife Cindy, his children Kristin (Eric) Winn and Anne “Archie” Schlichter (Nikki Abramowitz), his grandchildren Charlotte and Amelia Winn, his siblings sister Connie (Mike) Baker and Tom (Betsy) Schlichter, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Larry’s life will be celebrated in a private memorial ceremony for immediate family, with burial to follow in Lindenwood Cemetery.
