Kyle Dante Koob, 64, passed away at his home in Noblesville, Indiana, on February 26, 2026.
Kyle was born on April 15, 1961, the youngest of four children born to Edward James Koob and Flora Dean Koob. His mother lovingly nicknamed him “Sunshine,” a name that reflected the warmth and brightness her baby boy brought into their lives.
He graduated from Central High School in Evansville and later attended Purdue University. Kyle worked as an air traffic controller for approximately 12 years, serving at the Evansville Tower, Indianapolis Tower, and Lafayette Tower. For a period during that time, he also served as President of his local chapter of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association.
Later in life, Kyle worked as a concrete foreman, where his charisma made him a natural in sales and his quick mathematical abilities consistently impressed those around him.
Kyle was a gifted storyteller who could always make others laugh. He enjoyed collecting rocks from all over, as well as coins and stamps. An avid lover of science, history, and good food, he was endlessly curious about the world around him. He also had a tender heart for animals and took special pride in caring for and taming even the most feral cats.
Kyle was preceded in death by his father, Edward Koob; his mother, Flora Koob; his sister, Karin; and his aunt, Kaysie.
He is survived by his three daughters: Savanah (Lee), Kylah (Kyle), and Nicole (David); six grandchildren, Olivia, Nina, Lylah, Ariel, Teddy, and Cordelia; his sisters, Kim Greer (Dan) and Kristyna Baldwin; his nieces and nephews, Matthew (Kristy), J. Ryan (Margaux), Sarah, and Katelyn; and his former spouse and the mother of his children, Kimber Martinez.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
