Kristen Nicole Sherman

Kristen Nicole Sherman, 38, of McCordsville, IN, passed away unexpectedly on September 5, 2026, at her home.

Kristen was born in Indianapolis, IN to Laura (Nichols) Archer and Jeffrey Sherman on May 16, 1988.

From an early age Kristen was independent, happy, and loving life. She had the most contagious laugh that would light up a room draw you in from afar. In her early years Kristen enjoyed cheerleading, band, color guard, and basketball. Kristen always knew she wanted to attend college and aspired to run a large company. Kristen graduated from Hamilton Southeastern High school in 2007 and then attended IUPUI Kelly School of Business, Class of 2011, Indianapolis, IN, later receiving her master’s degree in business management from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2017. Kristen developed strong leadership skills, landing her first job as an Assistant Project Manager with Walker Information. After two years she became a Project Manager and Account Curriculum Manager for XEROX Co. Kristen then moved on and has completed many roles within the ELI LILLY and Co., Indianapolis, IN. Her leadership skills along with her strong communication and inner-personal skills recently landed her a position within the world-wide company as Director of Site Learning and Development. Kristen was a well-liked, hardworking colleague who has left behind many who will miss being a part of her team. She would have celebrated 10 years with LILLY next month.

One of Kristen’s strengths/passions was volunteering. Kristen served on the Young Professional Advisory Board through the Indianapolis Children’s Bureau for several years. Most recently, Kristen joined forces coordinating and serving on ELI LILLY’s Global Day of Service. Perhaps her proudest volunteer work is through the PKD Foundation. At age 15, Kristen was diagnosed with PKD. She was young and told that there was no cure. Before leaving the office, she asked if there was material in the hospital library about PKD. When her mom asked what she was looking for, she responded, “Finding A Cure”. Soon after, Kristen became a Volunteer Advisory Board Member for the Indianapolis chapter of PKD. Kristen served as a founding chair and coordinator for the annual PKD walk in Indianapolis, IN. Kristen most recently served on her Homeowners’ Association Board, as president.

Kristen leaves behind her greatest life gifts, her amazingly talented kids, Jackson Thomas Gill age 17 and Mariah Mackenzie Gill age 14. Kristen is also survived by her mom and stepdad Laura (Nichols) Archer and Brian of Fishers, IN, as well as her dad, Jeffrey Sherman of Rossville, IN. Kristen has 3 siblings: Courtney Munsell (Cory) of Fortville, IN, Kelli Archer of Indianapolis, IN, Clay Archer of Fishers, IN. Kristen has two surviving grandparents: Sue Cotter (Paul) of Ft. Myers, FL and William Thomas Sherman of Southport, IN. Kristen is also survived by two sweet nephews Owen and Luke Munsell as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, her 125 lb. fur baby Buddy and two cats Sparkle and Oreo.

Kristen is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Betty Nichols, Lowell E. Nichols Sr. (JoAnn), and stepdad Chris Cooper.

A Celebration of Life or “Life Party” will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church located at 8115 Oaklandon Road, Indianapolis, IN 46236. A private family service will take place from 5:00-6:00PM, followed with family and friends from 6:00-8:00PM. Please enter through door #4. Kristen’s remains will be placed later by her family.
