Kim Melvin Lewis, age 71, of Avon, Indiana, passed away on February 24, 2026.
Kim was born on May 4, 1954, in Heber, Utah. Throughout his life, he was known for his strong work ethic, steady faith, and deep love for his family. He built a life centered on service, dedication, and devotion to those he loved.
Kim worked as a journeyman ironworker and later as a general contractor. He took great pride in building with his hands and creating structures that would stand the test of time—much like the legacy he leaves behind in his family.
His faith was an important part of his life. Kim loved serving alongside the missionaries, driving for the storehouse, and working in the temple as a devoted temple worker. He found great joy in serving others and quietly lifting those around him.
Above all, Kim cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne Lewis; his sister, Katie Lewis; his brother, Wallace Lewis; his children, Chantel Lewis, Jarad Lewis, and Luke Lewis; as well as 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who were a constant source of pride and joy in his life.
Kim will be remembered for his dedication, his servant’s heart, and the steady love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held at Noon on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Brownsburg Ward, 9701 W. 56th Street, Clermont, IN 46234. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time. Kim will be laid to rest at West Ridge Park Cemetery following the service.
