Kevin Clayton Powell

Kevin Clayton Powell, 37, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

Kevin was born on November 9, 1988, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Harold “HG” Powell and Carla (Bahr) Bowers. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.

Kevin is survived by his loving stepfather, Michael Bowers; his daughters, Kiersten and Kendyll Powell, who were the light of his life; his fiancée, Samantha Boals; and his cherished stepdaughter, Zyla Boals. He is also survived by best friend,

his younger brother, Kyle Blake Powell, and his stepbrothers, Christian Bowers and Alex Bowers, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

In 2024, Kevin proudly joined IBEW Local 481 as an Apprentice Electrician. He took great pride in his work and looked forward to building a successful career in the electrical trade.

Kevin found his greatest joy in spending time with his girls and making memories with the people he loved. Whether he was fishing, playing golf, cheering on his favorite basketball or football teams, or firing up the grill to prepare a meal for family and friends, he embraced every opportunity to bring people together. Cooking was one of his passions, and his love for barbecuing was well known. He also enjoyed yard work and home improvement projects, always finding satisfaction in making a house feel more like home. Kevin had an infectious personality. He loved to laugh, be goofy, and make others smile. He was often the life of the party, bringing energy, humor, and warmth wherever he went. His kindness was evident in the way he cared for others. Even while facing his own personal struggles, Kevin remained remarkably strong and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Above all else, Kevin loved his family. His generous heart, unwavering loyalty, and joyful spirit will forever be remembered by those who were blessed to know him. Though his time with us was far too short, Kevin’s love, laughter, and the countless memories he created will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
