Kenneth Stout, 74, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on September 13, 2026, in Indianapolis, IN.

Kenneth aka “Ken” or “Kenny” was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on October 27, 1951, to Harold A. Stout and Ethel P. (Squires) Stout. He attended Northwest High School, graduating in 1970. A talented athlete, Ken excelled in four sports during high school and earned a basketball scholarship to Merced College in California, where his pure left-handed corner shot made him stand out on the court. He later returned to Indianapolis and graduated from IUPUI with a degree in education.

Ken began his professional career as a substitute teacher with Indianapolis Public Schools. He later found success in sales, working for American Cable and eventually GameTime-PlayCore, where he spent more than 20 years helping communities create places for children and families to play. His outgoing personality, gift for conversation, humor and genuine interest in people made him a natural in the profession.

In 2004, Ken married the love of his life, Lyndell L. Hufferd, in Indianapolis. Their years together were filled with love, companionship, and cherished memories. Following Lyndell’s sudden passing after a terminal illness diagnosis, Ken retired and focused on family, friends, and the hobbies he loved most.

Golf became his second great passion. Ken spent countless hours playing and working at Eagle Creek Golf Course, where he built lasting friendships and enjoyed being part of the golfing community. He loved searching for lost golf balls, tracking down bargains on golf equipment at Goodwill, listening to music, and sharing stories with anyone willing to listen.

Above all else, Ken treasured his family. He rarely missed an opportunity to support his grandchildren, enthusiastically attending their sporting events, school programs, and other important milestones. As the years passed, his kindness, generosity, and thoughtfulness toward others only grew stronger. Ken was a beloved Papaw to his grandchildren, a devoted father to his daughters, a treasured brother to his sister, and a loyal friend to countless people.

A true people person who never met a stranger, his warm smile, easygoing nature, witty humor and genuine care for those around him left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ken is preceded in death by his lovely wife, Lyndell Lee (Hufferd) Stout, his sister Donna Mae Etchells, his parents Harold & Ethel Stout.

Ken is survived by his children, Kristin Stout and her partner Scott Mills, Kasey Stout, Tia (Brister) Morris II; his sister, Lenora (Michael) Puckett; his grandchildren, Kennedy Lou Stout, Landon Kenneth Johnson, Kimora, Jayelen, Jourdan and Kayelen Morris, and Step-grandson Silas Mills, and great-granddaughter A’Zyla Morris: his nieces and nephews, Danielle Burton, Holly (Stamatis) Sotiropoulos, Ryan (Joanna) Puckett and Luke (Jennifer) Puckett; his step-children Tiffany (Kelly) Fleetwood and Tyler (Kelsey) Hufferd. His loyal best friend Michael (Delia) Bechert and a host of friends and golf buddies.

Memorial services will be held between 4-7PM, on October 27th, at Eagle Creek Golf Club Banquet Hall, 8802 W 56th St, Indianapolis, IN 46234.
