Kenneth Roy Hayes

The family of Kenneth “Kenny” Roy Hayes of Indianapolis, IN is sad to announce his passing on April 16, 2023, at the age of 69 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Lesley; children: Allyson (Sean) Hall and Kenny Hayes (Haley Bishop); grandchildren: Griffin, Owen, Makennah, and Leland; brothers, Michael (Cindy) Hayes, Steve (Peggy) Hayes; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Kenny was predeceased by his father and mother, William Jasper Hayes, and Francis Joanne Freeland; sisters, Cheryl Lynn Hayes-Hilton and Joanna Lee Hayes -Entler.

Kenny was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Colorado Springs, CO. Before graduating high school, Kenny enlisted in the Army. He served from 1972 -1975 and was stationed in South Korea during the Vietnam War. He also participated in Rock Ranger training. After being discharged from the Army, Kenny worked for various lumber companies such as Castleton Lumber Company, Dunlap’s, and Hall & House Lumber Company for 40 years.

In his spare time Kenny enjoyed fishing, watching Nascar races, and Colt’s football games. One of his most favorite hobbies was growing vegetables in his garden. He tried to outdo himself every year on how big his tomatoes would grow. Kenny would share everything he grew with family, friends, and neighbors.

The visitation will be held at Indiana Funeral Care 2433 E. Main St. Greenwood, In 46143 on Saturday April 22, 2023, at 11 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. at the same location. His family will be present to welcome loved ones.
