Kathryn Jean Roberts-Cruzan

September 8, 1921 — December 24, 2019

Kathryn Jean Roberts Cruzan passed on December 24th, 2019. She was the daughter of Carrie Haines Roberts and Chester A. Roberts and graduated from Westfield High School in 1939.

She married David Gordon Cruzan in 1942, taking a train to New Orleans, where he was stationed in the Army. Her career in Noblesville started when she worked for her father, who was the Hamilton County Recorder. After his death, her mother became the Recorder and served two more terms, with Katy by her side. Katy also worked at the Hamilton County Abstract Company and later at the Wainwright Abstract Co.

She won an award for being the fastest typist in the state of Indiana. After retiring, she and her husband spent their winters in Florida.

Katy was preceded in death by her husband and her son, Craig Cruzan. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Porter (Reb), her grandchildren, Kimberli Galloway of Sedona, Arizona, Grant Galloway (Nicole), of Huntley, Illinois, Clint Cruzan (Karre), of Noblesville, Indiana, Dyan Hughes (Nate), of Columbus, Indiana, Stevie Cruzan of Columbus, Indiana, Cassie Cruzan, of Noblesville, Indiana, and Coy Cruzan, of Noblesville, Indiana. Several great grandchildren also survive; Clay Deichman, Cassie Deichman, Jake Galloway, Cole Galloway, Tessa Cruzan, Piper Cruzan, Millie Cruzan and Denver Lary.

Katy was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a huge heart and was generous with everyone she knew. She will be remembered as a sweet, funny, spitfire of a lady and everyone who knew her, loved her.

A celebration of life dinner will be held in Katy’s honor, for immediate family.
