Kathleen Marie McAfee

Kathleen Marie "Mamaw" McAfee, born Kathleen Marie Gill on October 14, 1952, in Franklin, IN, passed away on March 11, 2024, in Carmel, IN. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Kathleen was a caring, kind, and compassionate woman who touched the lives of all who knew her.

Kathleen dedicated 24 years of her life to her career as a front end manager at Marsh. Outside of work, she found joy in various hobbies, including cooking, reading, baking, shopping, camping, historical reenactments, and gardening. She especially cherished spending time with her family, watching school and sports events for her grandchildren.

In her free time, Kathleen could often be found in the kitchen, showcasing her talent as an amazing cook. Her love for her family was evident in every meal she prepared and every moment she spent with her loved ones. She also had a passion for literature, enjoying the escape and knowledge that books provided her.

Kathleen is survived by her loving husband, David McAfee, her children Steven Grubbs and Deedee Grubbs, Carolyn Kirby and James Kirby Jr, her 4 sisters, 4 brothers, 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Eugene Gill and Ruth Ann Gill.

Kathleen's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to her family will forever be remembered and cherished by those who knew her.
