Katherine Michelle Hayden

Katherine Michelle Hayden, affectionately known as Kathy, passed away suddenly on April 22, 2026, in her hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana. She was 48 years old. Born on August 30, 1977, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Kathy was the biological daughter of James Vandine and Cynthia Loos Vandine. Raised and loved by James and Sandra Vandine, she grew up surrounded by a strong family foundation. 

Throughout her life, Kathy showed a tender heart, especially for animals, reflecting a gentle and compassionate spirit. She was also an avid supporter of the Armed Services, reflecting her respect and admiration for those who serve. One of her favorite pastimes was coloring and crafts, activities that brought her joy and allowed her creativity to flourish.

On April 22, 2015, Kathy married Eric Hayden. Their marriage was a significant and joyful chapter in her life. Kathy is survived by her devoted parents, James and Sandra Vandine, who provided her with love and support throughout her life. She is also survived by her sisters Autumn Anderson (Randall), Jill Winter, and Melinda Burleson. Her cherished nieces and nephews include Madison Doty (married to Levi), Isaac Anderson, Latia Walker, Devon Washington, Shawndel Walker, Tatyana Burleson, Marques Gilbert, Jalynn Gilbert, Journey Gilbert, as well as all of their children, who were an important part of Kathy’s extended family.

Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Eric Hayden; her grandparents Ross and Doris Vandine; Mary Thomas; Mary and Bob Able; and her biological mother Cynthia Loos.

She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, carrying forward her memory in their hearts.
