Karen Ruth Thompson Smith

Karen Ruth Thompson Smith (Rufus) was born July 14, 1957, to Charles Thompson and Sylvia Hardrick Thompson Hatcher who proceeded her in death when she departed this life on December 21st, 2023 at the age of 66. She graduated from Shortridge High School in 1975. She later went on to attend Ivy Tech Community College in 1996 studying to become a paralegal. She was a carpenter by trade and was an excellent cook and seamstress. She was the mother of 3, 2 sons and a daughter, 11 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sister Linda Terry. She is survived by 2 sisters Michelle Grays and Kim Davis, 2 brothers Charles David Thompson and Karl Kevin Thompson, her sons William Thompson and James Smith, her daughter Chaz Thompson, and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
