Justin Michael Poe

Justin Michael Poe, 38, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2026, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Justin was a friend, brother, son, nephew, and, above all, a loving father.

He was born on October 3, 1987, in Key West, Florida, before moving to Greenwood, Indiana, where he attended Center Grove High School. He was active in football and baseball, where he formed many friendships and made memories that he would talk about for years to come.

Anyone who knew Justin knew he had a unique personality, full of humor and quick wit, with an ability to make a joke in almost any situation. He never met a stranger and had a way of making people feel better than they did when they met him.

Justin found joy in sports and could often be found cheering on the Indianapolis Colts and Pacers. He had a genuine love for football and basketball, always keeping up with the latest happenings and enjoying every opportunity to share his passion and enthusiasm with those around him.

Justin worked at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, where he was able to bless others with his servant’s heart. During some of their most vulnerable moments, he provided laughter and hope to those who needed it most. It wasn’t just the patients Justin impacted; his coworkers were blessed by his positive energy and the encouragement he so freely gave. He will be greatly missed throughout the halls of Norton.

Justin was most proud of his children, Jasper and Millie, who brought him more joy than anything else in his life. Jasper is, in many ways, a spitting image of his father, carrying Justin’s unmistakable spirit with him…but hopefully not the same hairline. Both Jasper and Millie inherited Justin’s quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, ensuring that a little piece of their dad’s personality will live on in them. Watching them grow and seeing their personalities shine was one of Justin’s greatest joys and a source of immense pride.

In addition to his children, Jasper and Amelia, Justin is survived by his parents, Mike and Christine Poe; sisters, Abby Poe (Xindi) and Mollie (Ethan) Storie; brothers, Canyon (Erika) Poe and Terek (Logan) Storie; best friends Greg Scott and Allison Wilkins; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Justin’s grandparents, Connie and Gloria Poe, were waiting to greet him in Heaven. 

Justin was never one to take life, or himself, too seriously. He loved good music, new shoes, sports, beard oil, and sushi, but most of all, he loved his family. He leaves behind plenty of stories and plenty of laughs, but most of all, the legacy of a man who lived with courage, determination, and strength.

We invite all those who love Justin and his family to show their support on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Indiana Funeral Care North, located at 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46250. Public visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a service immediately following.

Jasper has requested for those in attendance to please wear their favorite sports jersey, Colts attire, or Colts blue.
