Julie Ann Janson

Julie Ann Janson passed away peacefully at home in the warm embrace of her family on July 16, 2026, after a courageous battle with uterine cancer. She was born on February 16, 1989, in Red Bud, Illinois, and in her 37 years touched countless lives through her warmth, sense of adventure, and genuine love for those around her.

A proud graduate of Arsenal Technical High School, Class of 2007, Julie embodied both determination and quiet strength from an early age. She worked at Central Nine School in Greenwood, Indiana, where she was recognized as an outstanding employee. Her dedication and work ethic were evident to all who had the pleasure of working alongside her.

Julie found her companion in Michael Neal, whom she married on July 22, 2025. Their union was one of love and adventures. Michael survives her, cherishing the memories of their time together.

Family was a central part of Julie’s world, and her presence brightened every gathering. She is survived by her husband, Michael Neal of Greenwood, IN; her father, Steven Janson of Greenwood, IN; her mother, Deborah Harsey of Indianapolis, IN; her brother, Thomas Janson of Indianapolis, IN; and her sister, Mary Janson of Fishers, IN. 

Julie’s life was also deeply shaped by the memories of those who passed before her: her uncles, Mark and Curtis Janson; her grandmothers, Evelyn Harsey and Evelyn Janson; and her grandfather, Lawrence Janson. Their memories lived on in Julie’s heart and were part of the stories she cherished and shared.

An adventurous spirit through and through, Julie cherished hiking, camping, and exploring the world around her. She was an avid traveler and music lover whose passion for art—especially murals—and flair for photography saw the beauty in everyday moments and places. Julie’s playful side shone through in her devotion to her beloved fur babies, Rocket and Zippy, who were her constant companions and brought immeasurable joy to her home.

Julie’s heart belonged to music, and she was a huge Taylor Swift fan, always hoping for the chance to meet her idol one day. In faith, she found strength and solace as a member at Gracepoint Church in Whiteland, Indiana, where she discovered her spiritual home and spoke openly to the Lord, developing a profound and personal connection with her beliefs.

Those closest to Julie will remember her as a gentle soul—shy yet stubborn, adventurous yet endlessly loving. Her beauty radiated both inside and out, touching the lives of her family, friends, and all who knew her. She had a remarkable talent for capturing life’s fleeting moments through her lens, leaving behind a trove of memories.

Julie Ann Janson’s spirit lives on in those she loved most. Her legacy is one of courage, beauty, and unwavering love. She will be dearly missed, forever cherished, and always remembered.
