Judy Arlene (Henson) Grider, passed away on March 26, 2026, in her hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 17, 1947, Judy was a lifelong resident of Greenwood and a cherished member of her community.

A proud graduate of Triton Central High School’s class of 1965, Judy began her career as a punch key operator before choosing to dedicate herself to being a full-time homemaker. Her devotion to family was one of the cornerstones of her life, and she celebrated some of her proudest accomplishments through her marriage to her beloved husband, Larry Grider, on May 5th, 1973.

Judy’s vibrant spirit was evident in her many hobbies and interests. Earlier in life, she competed in dance competitions, showcasing a passion that never waned as she later became a competitor in Ballroom dancing. She loved traveling and took great pleasure in exploring local shops, particularly those in Brown County. Judy found joy in simple pleasures, including bowling and dining at Cracker Barrel, where she would enjoy browsing the gift shop. Above all, she treasured spending time with her grandchildren, Logan and Freya Grider, who brought immense happiness to her life.

She is lovingly survived by her husband Larry Grider, her son Brad (Gina) Grider, daughter-in-law Sarah Grider, brother Steve Henson, and her grandchildren Logan and Freya Grider. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, James Wilson Henson and Grace Stovall Henson; her sister, Jacquline Craghead; her brother James Wilson Henson Jr.; and her son Jason Grider.

Judy Arlene Grider will be remembered for her warmth, dedication to family, and the strength she demonstrated throughout her life’s journey. Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who knew her and shared in her remarkable life.

The family invites those wishing to honor Judy's memory to make donations to the Humane Society of Johnson County, a cause close to her heart.

Her legacy of love, courage, and joy will remain forever cherished by all who were fortunate to know her.
