Judith Ann Kennedy

Judith Ann (Bruce) Kennedy, 87, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on May 30, 1939, and lived a rich life filled with faith, family, and lifelong friendships.

A devout Catholic, Judy lived her faith through active worship and selfless service. Over the years, she was a dedicated parishioner at St. Patrick, St. Ann, and Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Churches. She shared her devotion with others by serving as a CCD religious education teacher and a longtime Girl Scout Leader for her daughters.

A dedicated worker with a keen eye for detail, Judy worked for more than 20 years as an Advertising Accounts Payable bookkeeper for Hook’s Drugs.

With her outgoing spirit and gift for organization, she found great joy in bringing people together as the self-appointed “Welcoming Committee” and “Social Coordinator” at Crestwood Village. Her calendar was filled with the activities she loved most: competitive games of bingo, euchre, Swipe, Hand and Foot, and dominoes; daily Words with Friends on her iPad; relaxing aromatherapy sessions; and joyful lunches with the "lunch bunch." Judy never met a stranger, was always prepared for a great conversation, and left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Above all, Judy cherished her family. Her greatest joy in life was being a loving, devoted grandmother, and she treasured every moment spent with those she loved.

She is survived by her daughters, Vicki McPherson (Steve) and Karen Pierce; her beloved grandchildren, Erin Pierce Addington (Travis), Kylie McPherson, and Kade McPherson; and her brother, Tom Bruce (Valerie). She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mary (Hemmelgarn) Bruce, and her brother, Paul Bruce.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church (335 S. Meridian St., Greenwood, IN 46143). A funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by her inurnment at 12:30 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery (734 N. Morgantown Rd., Greenwood, IN 46142).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
