Judith Helen Bowman

October 29, 1932 — October 25, 2023

Carmel

Judith Helen (Woerner) Bowman went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 25, 2023 after a long battle with dementia. She passed just days before her 91st birthday. Judy was a longtime resident of Carmel, IN where she and her husband, Ronald, lived for 50 years. Judy was born in St. Louis, MO to Irvin and Elizabeth Woerner on October 29, 1932. She was the older of two children and beloved by her only brother, Philip. The family moved to Indianapolis in January of 1945 and Judy graduated from Howe HS in 1950 and worked at Westen Electric where she was a Hello Charley Girl. The summer of 1952, Judy met Ron at Indiana Beach and after a brief courtship, they were married on December 20, 1952. Judy spent the next several years working to put Ron through dental school while they lived in Kansas, California, Illinois and finally landed in Indiana in 1961. Judy’s 68-year union with Ron produced 4 children, 18 grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren. She was a devoted mom, grandma and great grandma, always in the front row of every choir performance, sporting event or anything the people she loved were involved in and loving. She lavished her family with love and support and made sure that family was first always. Judy and Ron were staples in the church as founding members of both Faith Church Indianapolis and Grace Church Noblesville.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Ron, her parents Irv and Liz Woerner, her sister-in-law, Barbara (Phil) Woerner and her niece, Alison (Phil) Woerner.

She is survived by her daughter Christine (Ronald) D’Onofrio, son Keith (Brenda) Bowman, daughter Elizabeth (Steve) Polley and daughter Amy (Jeffrey) Christie, 18 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren and her brother, Philip Woerner.

There will be a service to celebrate the life of Judy on Sunday, November 26 at 5:00 at Grace Church Noblesville with a visitation from 4 to 5 p.m..
