Judith A. (Judy) Black, 86, Kokomo, passed away peacefully at 1:40 pm Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. The eldest of eight children, Judith Anella was born on September 1, 1939, to Scott W. and Mary Ellen Johnson in Kokomo, IN. She graduated from Burlington High School, Class of 1958. On March 27, 1960, she married Charles Robert Black in Kokomo, IN and was a long-time member of Center Road Church of Christ. A woman of many talents and interests, Judy was known for her ability to bake and decorate beautiful wedding cakes (which she self-taught herself). Her cakes were delicious and loved by many, including family and friends. Her work ethic and commitment to both her professional responsibilities and her family were evident throughout her life. She first loved the Lord and lived her life as an example for the Lord.
She is survived by daughters, Kathleen Gee and Laureen (Mark) Beahrs; daughter Amy (Russell) Stier; sons, David (Mandy) Black and Douglas (Amy) Black; ex-daughter-in-law Johanna Black. Grandchildren, Kelsie (Reece) Farley; Spencer Gee and Garrett (Nikita) Gee; Ethan (Mandy) Black IN, and Derek Black; Keaton Evans-Black, Anneke Black and Jackson Black. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, Merek Kavanaugh, Hadlee Black, Oliver Anderson, Jeanne Miller, Gabby Anderson, and Ariel Grawey. Three of her siblings also survive: Katherine Simpson, Nancy Ehrman Kokomo, IN and Bob (Marilyn) Johnson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death, husband, Charles Black, Scott and Mary Ellen Johnson, her parents, Raymond and Pauline Black, her in-laws, sister, Cynthia Prough and three brothers, Dan Johnson, Steve Johnson, and Mike Johnson, son-in-law, John Gee and sister-in-law, Patricia Wheeler.
