Joyce Ruth Kline

Joyce Ruth Kline, 89, of Plainfield, Indiana, passed away on April 22, 2026, at home, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 30, 1937, in Wyndotte, Michigan to Harold and Wilma Krieg. 

Joyce will be remembered with deep respect and enduring gratitude as a faithful presence in the lives of those who loved her—steadfast in love and cherished for the quiet strength and care she gave so freely. She held a special place in the hearts of her family and friends, and her memory will continue to be beloved and tenderly kept. 

Joyce is survived by her children, Cathy (Ron Freeze) Kline, Mike Kline, Ken (Peggy) Kline and Sandi (Sean) Sutche; grandchildren, Darci, Darla, Chad, Joe, David, Brennen, Luke, Vanessa, Stephanie, Courtney, Rachel, Kayla, Rhaine, Dayzsh, and Shalynn; 43 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren; her sister, Shirley Krieg; her sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Krieg; and many other family members and friends. 

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Wilma Krieg, her brother, Don Krieg, and her brother-in-law, Sonny Krieg. Those closest to Joyce knew the simple joys that brought her peace and pleasure—time spent fishing, the patient work of knitting, the creativity of crafting, and the enjoyment of travelling. In these pursuits, she found moments to share, to create, and to savor life alongside the people she loved.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 963 N. Girls School Road, Indianapolis, IN 46214.
