Joy Ann Ellis

Joy Ann Ellis, 89, passed away on May 9, 2024, in Mooresville, Indiana.

Joy was born on August 27, 1934, in Crothersville, IN, to the late Claude Russell and Addah Gray.

Joy worked as an Office Clerk at Kipp Brothers and at Chevy Truck and Bus. She lived on the west side of Indianapolis for several years, also Vincennes, Lyons, Odon, Washington, and Loogootee during her life. 

Joy was best known for helping anyone that needed it without asking for anything in return. She enjoyed doing puzzles, playing solitaire online and going to the casino. 

Joy is survived by her daughter, Judy Hart and her husband Mark of Camby; grandsons, Jacob Hart and his wife Sara, Joshua Hart; great granddaughter, Chloe; brother, Lex Gray, and his wife Peggy; sister Faye Dill and her husband CA. 

Joy is preceded in death by her first husband, Dwight Johnson; and second husband, Robert Ellis; father, Claude Russell; mother, Addah Gray; stepdad, Odis Gray; and brother, Cletus Russell.
