Joshua Michael Wickham

Joshua M. Wickham, affectionately known as Josh, passed away on August 12, 2026, at the age of 48, after a courageous battle with cancer. His life was cut far too short. He was born on December 1, 1977.

Josh lived and worked in Anderson, Indiana. He was an avid disc golfer who enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, traveling, and listening to music. He had a particular love for the Grateful Dead, and music was an important part of his life.

Josh was a stubborn, hard-headed man on the outside, never one to back down from what he believed. He loved a good debate and was always ready to challenge anyone who wanted to take him on. But beneath that strong exterior was a heart of gold. Those who knew Josh best knew the kindness, loyalty, and love he carried within him.

Josh is survived by his mother, Ruth Denton; half-brothers, Aaron Denton of Plainfield and David Denton of Carmel; uncles, Tim Wickham and Dee Wickham of Indianapolis and Florida, Doug Wickham of Indianapolis, and Tammy Wickham Wiley and her husband, Calvin, of Clemson, South Carolina; and cousins, Andrew Wickham, Alex Wickham, Chris Wickham, and Wren Wyatt.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Kathleen Long Wickham, who lovingly raised him, and Paul R. Wickham.

Josh will be remembered for his strong personality, his love of a good argument, his appreciation for music and the outdoors, and, most of all, the heart of gold that those closest to him knew so well. His life may have been cut short, but the memories he created and the impact he had on those who loved him will remain.

A memorial service celebrating Josh’s life will be held Friday, August 28, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 N. Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

May he find the perfect course, a good fishing spot, and a little Grateful Dead playing in the background.
