Josephine Blanche Hanger

Josephine Blanche (Burton) Hanger, 79, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully Friday, December 29, 2023, at her home with her husband and children by her side.

Josephine was born on Friday, September 1, 1944, in Middletown, Connecticut to the late Edward and Josephine (Hofmeyer) Burton. Josephine moved to Alaska, then Southern California where she met her husband Charles whom she had been married to for 61 years. She later moved to Indiana. She loved to travel and camp with their custom RV and ride motorcycles in the desert with family and friends. Josephine loved to crochet blankets for family and friends. She raised a family and opened her heart and home to foster children. Her house was always a home for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who would often visit.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward, and Josephine; brothers, John, and Jack; sister, Arlene; and grandson, Christopher.

Josephine is survived by her husband, Charles Hanger; daughters, JoLynne and Rene; son, Matt; grandchildren, Cody, Brittany, Brandon, Josie, Sonder, Maddie, Sam; great grandchildren, Ava, Kristen, Josi and Ellie.
