Joseph Warner Clay

April 21, 1945 — October 23, 2019

Joseph Clay, affectionately called “Little Joe” by family, was born to John and Crema Clay on April 21, 1945. He attended Arsenal Technical High School. He was employed as a Mechanic with Carrier Corporation for 31 years until his retirement. He was a savvy business man - owning rental properties and buying and selling real estate around Indianapolis.

Joe enjoyed gardening – he took pride in maintaining his lawn and planting beautiful flowers around his home. He also enjoyed traveling the world. His most recent travels took him abroad to Paris; he has also traveled to Spain and many more destinations. Joe enjoyed hosting gatherings at his home for friends & family – you could always count on good food, fun conversation and fond memories when Joe hosted a party.

Joe grew up in the Baptist church with his siblings. He is survived by sister Alice Clifford, brothers Stephen and Richard “Dickie” and sister-in-laws Gwen, Naomi and Margaret; and a lot of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
