Jose Alaniz

Jose Alaniz, 82, of Beech Grove, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026.

Born on May 25, 1943, in Donna, Texas, Jose was a hard worker from a young age. He started driving a semi truck to provide a better life for his family, and that dedication to those he loved defined his entire life. When he wasn’t on the road, Jose found joy in the simple things: relaxing on his days off with his Mexican music playing, and most of all, being surrounded by family.

Jose was preceded in death by his children, Joe Alaniz and Tina Alaniz, and by his siblings. He leaves behind his beloved sisters Andrea, Quela, and Irma; his children Irma Sheppard, Aracelia Conklin, Gilbert Alaniz, Jamie Alaniz, and Virginia Alaniz; along with 20 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren who brought him so much pride and joy.

He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. We take comfort knowing we’ll see him again. We love him.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 10 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
