With deep love and reverence, we announce the passing of John Alan Paul, who departed this world on July 24, 2026, in Greencastle, Indiana, at the age of 73. His journey began on June 21, 1953, in Indianapolis, Indiana the son of the late Raymond and Phyllis Paul—a city that would see the outset of a life marked by quiet strength.

John Alan Paul devoted his career to the craft of pipefitting with Real Mechanical. In this role, he developed a reputation for his meticulous attention to detail and his unwavering dedication to his work and colleagues. His presence in the workplace was not only a testament to his professional skill, but also to the steadfast integrity and humility with which he approached every task. John’s vocation was more than a livelihood; it was a reflection of his steady character—reliable, skillful, and sincere.

Beyond his distinguished career, John’s greatest fulfillment sprang from his beloved family. He is survived by his loving wife, Jaqueline Paul, whose partnership and companionship anchored his days. Together, they shaped a family grounded in affection and mutual respect. His daughter, Michelle Paul, and her husband, Dustin Paul, continue to honor John’s legacy through their own lives. John’s heart swelled with pride at the mention of his grandchildren: Levi Paul (Deedee Collier) and Alleesia Paul, each a beacon of promise and joy in his later years. His great-grandsons, Kevin Glascoe and Hunter Allen Paul, brought boundless light to his days. John’s nephew, Austin Tuck, also survives him.

Though his path was touched by loss, John bore these trials with profound resilience. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Shockley, whose memory remained ever-present in his thoughts. Others who passed before him—son: Kevin Shockley, Hayden Shockley, and Joshua Hatfield—are now joined with him in peace.

For all who knew John, his legacy will be that of a man who found his truest purpose in supporting, guiding, and loving his family. He was a loyal friend, an honest worker, and above all, a devoted family man whose impact cannot be measured in words alone.

A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on August 8, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at 3575 E 400 S, Lebanon, IN 46052, at the home of his brother, Floyd Paul, in Lebanon. Family, friends, and all who were touched by John’s warmth are welcome to gather, share memories, and find solace in the enduring legacy he leaves behind.

John Alan Paul’s memory will dwell forever in the hearts of those privileged to have known his kindness and unwavering love. His journey here may have concluded, but he remains ever present in the stories, laughter, and affection of those who survive him.
