John Sam Evans, 70, of Huntington Beach California entered the presence of his Lord, Jesus Christ, on April 8th, 2026.

John was born on October 5th, 1955, to Robert and Maxine Evans. He grew up in Gwynneville, Indiana and graduated from Morristown High School before earning a degree in music from Ball State University.

John owned a private music studio in Huntington Beach where he taught both piano and saxophone lessons.

John had a deep love for the Lord and enjoyed being a part of the worship ministry at both First Christian Church Huntington Beach and Saddleback Church in California.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Robert Evans and Maxine (Davis) Evans; and his dear brothers, Robert Edward Evans (“Ted”) and Joseph Andrew Evans (“Andy”).

He is survived by his brother, Daniel Richard Evans (Carol); his sister-in-law, LeeAnn Evans; nephews, Josiah Evans (Andrea) and David Evans (Sydney); niece, Rachel Proctor (Brandon); great-nephews, Jameson Evans and Ellis Evans; and great-nieces Ember Evans and Delilah Proctor.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 18 at Gwynneville Christian Church, Gwynneville, Indiana. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the service beginning at 1 p.m. The family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society for American Cancer Society/?campaign=Esophagealcancermedia&gclsrc=aw.ds&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaignid=17604508476&utm_adgroupid=154868973308&utm_keyword=esophageal%20cancer%20foundation&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=17604508476&gbraid=0AAAAAD2heefnEaOR7h75nEDvz2T5HWHZs&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqPLOBhCiARIsAKRMPZrCOadLUXsFx2CDkocEvlSMzM61SRRvyitBLqHcxeunmKZQ_IZEmq4aAoexEALw_wcB" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Esophageal Cancer Research or Gwynneville Christian Church in lieu of flowers.
