He was born on Thursday, March 8, 1951 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late John W. and Flossie E. (Muncy) Thomas.
John was a self-employed carpenter and electrician. He was more importantly a loving father and grandfather.
He is survived by his life partner of 40 years, Doris Farmer; daughter, Teena Smith; sons Carey Thomas, Sean Thomas; brother, Melvin Thomas; sister Naomi (Thomas) Allen; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
John is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Delores(Thomas) Schrader, Rhonda (Thomas) Kinnett; brothers, Donald Thomas, Michael Thomas; and daughter, Kimberly Olson.
All services are private to family.
