John Andrew Johnson went home to be with Jesus on October 12th, 2019 at the age of 64. John was born on December 29th, 1954 to George and Louise Johnson. John met his wife, Kathy in 1971 and they became high school sweethearts. They were married in 1974 and had a beautiful life together.
John was preceded in death by his mother and father, George and Louise, his father in law, Joe Bruner and his grand babies, Morgan, Haylee, Joshua and Khloee. He is survived by his loving wife Kathy; his five children, Tina (Scott) Beers, Jennifer (Brandon) Awrey, Daniel (Jenni) Johnson, Lisa “Boo Boo” (Jeff) Kowell, Angie (Gary) Cooper; his 19 grandchildren, Kiersten (Andrew “Bear”) Armbruster, Amy (Chris) Service, Sara, Alyssa, Maddie, Samantha, Cecelia, Andrew, Kinzee, Hayden, Kylee, Landen, Kinadee, Brodey, Mitchell, Gracie, Charlee, Little Gary, Macey; his doggy who also loves him so much, Baylee.
He is also survived by his seven siblings; Marcia (Paul) Behler, Bonnie (Paul) Suding, George (Judy) Johnson, Gerry (Jim) Sgroi, Paul (Diane) Johnson, Joe (Linda) Johnson, Angie (Phil) Daprile. His mother in law; Barbara Bruner Chaney. His six siblings in laws; Steve (Theresa) Bruner, Patty (Phil) Rothkopf, Tom (Tracy) Bruner, Greg (Tina) Bruner, Tracy (Kevin) Steinke, Paul (Tina) Bruner. His three Godchildren; David Behler, Sherry Buzzard and Phillip Daprile.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving father and husband, John loved camping, riding his Harley (with his brothers and son), and attending his grandkids sports and school functions. He also loved meeting with his ROMEO group with his dear Life group friends. He was a member of the Village Bible Church.
John loved every person he ever met unconditionally. He brought humor and joy into every room that he walked into. More than anything, John loved Jesus Christ. He is now in heaven, playing with his grand babies and standing in awe of the Lord.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Village Bible Church, 695 Pushville Road, Greenwood, Indiana 46143. Funeral Service will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Ken Dalton and Brandon Awrey officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood Chapel.
