Joe Lee Vest

Joe Lee Vest, 88, passed peacefully on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at SouthPointe Health Care Center. Joe was born on Saturday, September 22, 1934, to the late Edgar and Nellie (Willoughby) Vest in Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was a 1952 graduate of Emmerich Manuel High School. Following graduation, he became an electrician with International Harvester.  After dedicating 30 years of work for them, he was able to retire and later moved to Destin, Florida. In recent years he moved back to Indiana after the passing of his beloved wife, JoAnn Vest of 23 years.

Joe is survived by his partner, Kenijo Brown and her children and their families; JoAnn’s four children and their families; sister Wanda (Dick) Lewis; daughters, Barbara (Jim) Land, Donna Baca; sons, Scott (Susan) Vest, Thomas (Teaka) Vest, Danny (Kristin) Vest; and many grandchildren. He will be missed by so many.

The Vest family would like to thank the SouthPointe Healthcare Staff for their generosity and kind disposition while taking care of Joe during these last couple of months.

Visitation is Friday, February 17, 2023, 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Christ United Methodist Church, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Celebration of life will begin at 5:00 pm.
