Jody Fedor, 76, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away Sunday, January 5th, 2025. Born in Akron, Ohio, where he graduated from Green High School, he was a veteran who served as a military police officer with the United States Army. He was also a career salesman of various products including furniture, auto parts, Lego, Crayola, air duct and ventilation components.
He served his community through his dedicated involvement in Free Masonry and with the Knights of Pythias (KoP). He had the honor of serving as a past Chancellor Commander at the Carmel KoP in 2022. Throughout his 20 years as a Free Mason and four years with the KoP, Jody played a pivotal role in organizing and supporting numerous charitable events. He also found great fulfillment while serving as Chaplain at the Broad Ripple lodge from 2019-2021 and was often involved in weekly meal preparation. His commitment to helping others was evident in every aspect of his life, and his generosity left a lasting impact on those around him. Jody’s fellow Brothers will always fondly remember him, remarking, "His life and actions were always a testament to his faith in a higher power and his deep love for others."
As an adult Boy Scout leader, Jody helped and encouraged his son, Christopher, to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout and his son, Brian, in his various scouting accomplishments. He enjoyed listening to classic rock and roll and played the Hammond B-3 organ in many bands. Jody also meticulously restored a 1973 MG Midget and 1952 Ford F-1 pick-up truck - both of which won numerous awards at car shows.
His upbeat and positive personality was enjoyed by all - often humming, whistling and/or singing along with any song he knew and loved, no matter where he was or who he was with. The lives of those who knew him will not be the same without the "music" he generously shared in this and many other ways.
Jody is preceded in death by his loving wife, Naomi, to whom he was married for over 54 years. He is survived by his two sons, Christopher (wife Christine) and Brian (wife Rachel); 4 grandchildren (Victoria, Ethan, Sage, and Evan) and 1 great-grandchild (Evelyn). He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In lieu of sending flowers or other gifts of sympathy, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to The American Cancer Society: https://donate.cancer.org.
A Celebration of Life service is pending and details will be shared separately.
