Joan Marie Wieczorek

Joan Marie Szymanski Wieczorek, 94, of Indianapolis passed away at her home on April 23rd, 2026.

Joan was born in South Bend, IN, the daughter of Edwin and Martha Szymanski. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leo Wieczorek, son Frank Wieczorek and grandson James Wieczorek, as well as her brothers, Edwin "Mike" and Irrin Szymanski.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Dennis) Dowling, son John (Maura) Wieczorek and daughter in law Eileen Wieczorek.

She was a loving grandmother to eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Joan retired from Macy's after 25+ years of dedicated service. She has been a faithful member of St Lawrence Catholic Church since 1958. Joan was a part of the Adoration group as well as a Eucharistic Minister.

A visitation will be held on Friday May 1st, 2026 at 11:30am at St Lawrence Catholic Church, 4650 Shadeland Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46226. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 12:30pm.
