Jo Ellen Stockdale

Jo Ellen Stockdale, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on April 22, 1953.

Jo Ellen’s educational journey began at Calvary Lutheran Grade School, and she proudly graduated from Southport High School in 1971. Her nurturing personality and unwavering kindness left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Jo Ellen was a dedicated employee at Kroger for many years, where her friendly demeanor and genuine care for others made her a treasured member of the team and a familiar face to customers. Her ability to connect with others was remarkable; she never knew a stranger and always wore a smile that could brighten anyone's day.

Her love for animals was evident in every aspect of her life. Jo Ellen had a deep compassion for strays, often welcoming them into her home and finding them loving families. This selfless passion revealed her caring and nurturing spirit, showcasing her extraordinary heart.

Jo Ellen cherished her family deeply. She is survived by her loving husband, Keith Stockdale, and her devoted sons, Ronnie Hall and Danny Hall. As a proud grandmother, she delighted in spending time with her grandchildren: Johnathan Hall, Hannah Hall, Victoria McDole, Sammy McDole, Brian McDole, Jordyn Stockdale, Kaleb Stockdale, Max Hower, and Owen Hower. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, and she loved creating beautiful memories with them, whether it was through camping trips, travels, or simply sharing stories around the table. She also leaves behind her cherished sisters, Marilyn (Roy) Thompson and Sharon Munsey, along with many nieces and nephews who will carry her spirit forward.

Jo Ellen was predeceased by her father, William Bastin; her mother, Maxine Bastin; her brother, Gary Bastin Sr.; her sister, Nancy Rogers; and her son, Richard McDole.

Her service will be held on February 24, 2026, at Indiana Funeral Care East, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Following the service, a graveside ceremony will take place at Forest Lawn Memory Garden in Greenwood, Indiana, beginning at 2:30 PM.
