Ji'Von Devell Smith Jr

Ji’Von “MJ” Smith Jr, 19, of Greenwood, passed away on September 3rd, 2026. He was born in Florence, South Carolina to Amber Hopkins and Ji’von Smith Sr. He was blessed to have a loving family who surrounded him, including Sonny Gill, Alex Torres, Lauren Smith, Jonathan Crowley Jr, Amanat K. Gill, Emelio Torres, Jayven, Ja’Von, Iyasmine, Gabriella Smith, and Mykel Seymore. He is also survived by his paternal grandparents, Lisa (Dwayne Alexander Sr) and Johnny Samuel; his uncles Jonathan “Big Jon” Crowley Sr, JaBre “Smoke” Smith, and Dwayne “Lil D” Alexander Jr; and many more cousins, friends, bros, and extended family.

Ji’Von is preceded in death by his grandma, Sharlean Crowley; his grandpa, Jack Hopkins.

He loved to laugh, as he was always known to be joking around. He enjoyed baseball and football and was known to be an amazing athlete. When he wasn’t running around or making people laugh, he could be found on his on PS5 playing MLB or Rocket League.

He will be remembered as a caring son, brother, friend, and mama’s boy. His bright smile could light up any room. When he cared about something or someone, he put his whole heart into it. If more people acted like Ji’Von, the world would be a brighter place. Rest in peace, you will be deeply loved and remembered.
