Jerry M. Moss

Jerry M. Moss was born in Indianapolis to David “Art” Moss and Marjorie (Shepler) Moss on May 5, 1938. Growing up on the west side of Indianapolis, Jerry graduated from George Washington High School. He married Wanda (Bowden) Moss on July 6, 1963.

Jerry served six years in the Air Force Air National Guard, leaving as a Staff Sergeant. He was also a long-time member of the International Typographical Union and enjoyed a long career in sales, ranging from advertising to various other things such as mowers, cars, and basically anything. A real people person, this career was a natural fit for him.

He was an avid supporter of his daughters’ and grandchildren’s athletic endeavors. From their early years in little league all the way through to college athletics, Jerry was a positive figure, cheering them on from the sidelines. Volleyball, basketball, softball, tennis, or baseball, you could count on Jerry’s support from the stands. A baseball player as a young man himself, he loved watching games on TV. Later in life, he picked up golf and enjoyed all the friends he made while playing. He truly enjoyed sports of all kinds and was an avid car enthusiast. Jerry also loved music and had great taste that he passed down to his children and grandchildren.

Jerry was a member of both Indian Creek Christian Church, and more recently LifePoint Church. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Art and Marjorie as well as his brother David. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Wanda (Bowden) Moss, daughter Leann Moss, daughter Kristy (Eric) Lentz;  granddaughter Hollyn Lentz and grandson Brayden Lentz. He also leaves behind brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jerry and Donna Bowden, and sister-in-law Vicki Moss in addition to several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 21 at Indiana Funeral Care Greenwood Chapel from 2:30-4:30 with a service beginning at 4:30. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider donating in Jerry’s name to the American Cancer Society at https://www.cancer.org/
