Jerry L. Britt, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on January 31, 2026, in Avon, Indiana. He was born on July 29, 1964, in Kentucky, bringing joy and laughter to those around him with his playful personality and well-known sense of humor. Jerry had a natural talent for joking and picking on others, always bringing a smile to their faces and creating wonderful memories that will be cherished by family and friends.
Jerry's love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for fishing, especially at the Whiteriver, where he spent countless hours enjoying nature and the company of loved ones.
He is survived by his daughter, Dotty Moore and her husband, Johnny; his son, Jerry Wayne Britt (Heather); his grandchildren, Robbie Britt, Ashley Suffel and her husband, Billy, and Jacklynn Moore; as well as a great-grandchild, Deven Shane. Jerry's spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched and the memories he created with his family.
Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Becky Wrightsman; his parents, Lewis and Mildred (Brown) Britt; his son, Robert Britt; and his siblings, James Britt, William Britt, and Peggy Roberts. They welcomed him with open arms on the other side as he departed this earthly journey.
Jerry L. Britt leaves behind not just a legacy of laughter but also a deep love that will forever resonate within his family, reminding them of the joyous times shared and the indelible impact he had on their lives. His memory will continue to warm their hearts and inspire them to carry forward his spirit of fun and love.
There will be private services held on Thursday, February 5, 2026 in Scottsville, Kentucky.
