Jennie Clare Hofer

Our precious mother, Jennie Clare Naanes Hofer departed this earth to be with her Lord and Saviour October 21, 2020.

Born to Guy and Ruby Naanes on June 15,1930 Jennie was welcomed by her sister Barbara. Later came brother Teddy and sister Glenda.

As a young girl Jennie loved playing with her dolls and kittens. Many summer days were enjoyed swimming at the Naanes's Fall's.

Jennie graduated from Spencer High School in 1947. Like many country girls she then headed to Indianapolis to work. There she met & married Clark Jackson. Together they had two sons, Roger and Michael. Unfortunately Clark died in a tragic accident. In 1953 Jennie and Edward Hofer married and lived in Onida, South Dakota. Farming was Ed's passion but hard times brought them back to Spencer, Indiana to raise their family. Their three children are Cynthia Russell, Melinda Emmert and Mark Hofer.

Playing piano, teaching Sunday school and church activities filled Jennie's life along with caring for her family. She was an OB/Nursery nurse at Bloomington Hospital for twenty years.

Jennie's positive Christian influence will long be treasured by her 12 grandchildren, 15 great and 4 great great grandchildren, family and friends.

Visitation will be October 27,2020 at the Brazil Nazarene Church from 12:00 pm- 2:00 pm immediately followed by a funeral service. A brief graveside service will follow at Hudson Hill Cemetery, Spencer, Indiana. Due to state mandate, facial coverings will be required for the service.

In lieu of flowers, Jennie requested donations be given to the Brazil Nazarene Church's children church camp fund.
