Jeffery Dwayne Barron, 62, passed away on April 14, 2026. He was born on March 7, 1964, to Paul Barron and Olivia Love.
Jeffery was a dedicated service member to the United States of America, having served 23 years in the United States Air Force. He served abroad during Desert Storm and retired as an accomplished Master Sergeant and Air Force recruiter. Following his military career, Jeff continued his commitment to serving others by working in administration at the VA. His life, career, and reputation stand as a testament to his unwavering dedication to his country. He also continued giving back to fellow veterans by volunteering at the VFW during his time living in Nebraska.
Beyond his service, Jeffery was a man of many talents and passions. He had a true love for cooking and was exceptional at it, often bringing joy to those around him through his meals. A lifelong learner, he recently earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration, a reflection of his determination and drive. He was an avid marathon runner and proudly earned several medals over the years, demonstrating his perseverance and discipline.
Jeffery was also a devoted sports fan, cheering on the Chicago Bears, the Chicago Cubs, and University of Kentucky basketball.
He will be remembered for his intelligence, his sense of humor, and his remarkable ability to always see the bright side of any situation.
He is survived by his brother, Phil Barron (Rachel); his sister, Janet Barron; and his children, Megan Wehby (Nick), Emily Hill (Dalton), and Nicholas Barron (Hailee). He also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren—Gracelynn, Sophia, Kashton, Will, Winter, and Ava—as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Barron and Olivia Love.
A funeral service with full military honors will be held on April 28th at 2:30 p.m. at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. A meal will follow at the Richmond House of Prayer Fellowship Hall in Richmond, Kentucky.
Jeffery’s legacy is one of service, strength, love, and resilience. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
