Jeanette Krol, 88, passed away peacefully on Sept 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 26, 1937, in Gary, IN to Walter and Helen Bonczek. She graduated from Bishop Noll High School in 1955 and went on to marry her sweetheart and love of her life, Edward Krol. They were married for 68 years and together they built a beautiful life filled with faith, family, love, and laughter.
To her family, Jeanette was lovingly referred to as “HQ” - as she was the headquarters and heart of her large family, and the glue that kept everyone together.
She was a great storyteller, always sharing her gift of gab generously. Her family will forever cherish the countless stories she told.
Jeanette had many other titles throughout her life - Scout leader, room mother, PTO officer, coach, pinochle player, red hat member, and bargain shopper but she was best known as a wonderful, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always there to provide family meals, to help with homework and creative school or scout projects, to make holiday cookies, to throw baptism, communion, and graduation parties, and to just listen to all her children’s stories about their day.
She was a proud Grandma that cherished every moment with her “grandies,” always celebrating their accomplishments and passions and sharing them with others. Her grandchildren will remember her through fond memories of her hosting fun sleepovers, whipping up great meals and desserts, playing games, and sharing funny stories and laughs at the kitchen table until way past their bedtime.
She lived her life full of energy and fun. She never met a stranger and made everyone she met feel welcomed and at home. She was kind, selfless, and compassionate, always putting others first.
She is now reunited with her beloved son Jeffrey Krol, and her parents Walter and Helen Bonczek.
She is survived by her loving husband Edward, her children Ed (Judy) Krol, Dave Krol, Don Krol, Mary (Jim) Bastin, Kathy (Bob) Wade, Lisa (Shane) Tyler, Jenn (Andy) Wallace, grandchildren Erik (Krina), Megan, Dave, Katey, Amanda, Scott (Laura), Danai (Kris), Grace (Eamonn), Kyle, Luke, Seth (Izzie), Hannah, Oliver, and Rowan, great grandchildren Kayla, Jakob, Mike, Riley, Noah, Arlo, and great great grandchildren Wyatt and Gryffin.
Her legacy of storytelling, laughter and love will continue to bind her family together and live on in every laugh shared and memory retold.
