Jayne Ann Buchanan

In loving memory of our mother, Jayne Buchanan, who passed away on October 9th at age 91, joining her husband Bob, who passed away on May 6th, 2023. Married in 1955, Bob and Jayne created a home in Muncie with an extensive and beautiful garden, and they both loved planting and tending to the plants and wildlife. They frequently shared the bounty with neighbors and friends, as well as local nonprofits. Their three children, Vince (wife Annette, children Bryn, Haley, and Chloe), Eric (wife Cheryl, children Bryce, Ian, and Sean), and Angela (husband Harrison) grew up in the house they called home for 63 years.

Neighbors Patsy and Gary were close and cherished friends for life. Jayne spent time as a hairdresser in her early life, and later was an integral part of the success of her son's restaurant at the Muncie airport, Vince's. She reinvented herself again as a travel specialist for Star financial, a job she loved, which allowed her to finally travel and see the world. She loved to roller skate, create art in different mediums, and to meet new people, and she spent her life doing volunteer and community work. She was particularly dedicated to working with the Muncie YWCA, where she also served in administrative roles. She made friends virtually everywhere she went.

Jayne was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Alvin Edwards, brother Vance Edwards, and grandson Sean Buchanan. There will be no public service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the YWCA of Muncie.
