Jay was born February 27, 1966, to Linda and Harold Montgomery and passed away at the age of 54 on October 19, 2020.

Jay leaves behind his two awesome children, Julya (Joshua Forges) and Jacob (Natalie Montenegro); his charismatic ex-wife, Georgette; his mother, Linda; sister, Angie; brother Aaron (Misty); nieces CeCelia, Tessa and Lexi; and nephew, Will.

Jay spent his early years living in Burbank, California, where his father was an officer on the Los Angeles Police Department, He then moved back to Bargersville, Indiana, where he graduated from Center Grove High School. He went to IUPUI and ITT Technical Institute where he got his degree in Network Systems Administration.

Jay worked at AT&T for many years, first as a telephone operator, then as a business customer service representative. He then followed in his father's footsteps and served as a reserve deputy on the Johnson County Sheriff Department. Later, he was a journeyman painter and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades Local 47. He also worked at Nice Pak, Weaver Popcorn, and a variety of other places.

Jay loved anything to do with the water: swimming, boating, cruising, jet and water skiing, or just sitting on the beach. He was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts, IU basketball, and Indiana Pacers. He followed Formula 1, Indy Car and NASCAR. He was a black belt in Taekwondo and enjoyed Muay Thai and jiu jitsu at Dragonfly Martial Arts.

Jay will be missed by many. As part of his celebration of life, his loved ones will be gathering at The Willard, 99 N. Main Street, Franklin, on Sunday, March 21, 2021, from 6 pm-9 pm. Feel free to stop by to share your memories, eat some wings, have a drink and jack your jaws, just like he said he wanted. And in line with following his wishes, "I told you I was sick!"
