Mr. Day was born at Lafayette, IN, on Oct 19, 1957 to Gordon L. and Margaret Louise Stewart Day. He passed away, Thursday Sep 16, 2021 at Franciscan Hospital in Lafayette, IN.
He was a 1976 graduate of North Montgomery High School, where he excelled in track. He had been a member of the Btry A, 3/139th FA, Indiana National Guard. He was a concrete finisher by trade and an avid outdoorsman.
He married Darla Leann Wethington, Sep 20, 1980, at First Baptist Church, Crawfordsville, IN.
He is survived by his wife and three children; Carla Denise, Jacob Andrew (Rachel), and Rachel Courtney; 5 grandchildren, Aryanna, Rilee, Brooklynn, Emery, and Elijah; two sisters, Rita Nicholas and Ida (Rick) Ryder; several nieces, nephews and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Gordon Paul Day, and a brother David Murl Day.
A celebration of life and military rites will be held Saturday, Oct 23, 2021 starting at 2 pm, at the American Legion, Darlington, IN.
