Janice Lee (Gray) McCormick passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and unwavering love. Born on February 15, 1936, in Terre Haute, Indiana, Janice was a shining example of compassion and service throughout her ninety years.
A proud graduate of Montgomery High School, Janice possessed a lifelong appreciation for learning and hard work. Her professional journey was marked by many years of committed service as the office manager at Hanson Aggregates, where her diligence and integrity earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. Janice's work ethic carried through every aspect of her life, and her retirement was a reflection not only of time served, but of the countless lives she touched along the way.
Janice’s days were rich with the joys of family, community, and simple pleasures. An active and faithful member of Cloverdale United Methodist Church, she found spiritual fulfillment and deep friendship among her fellow congregants. Her joy for life extended to traveling on Turner Coaches, where she enjoyed many adventures. At home, her love for cooking, baking, and tending to her cherished flowers created warmth and beauty which she readily shared with those around her. Janice found pleasure in puzzles and valued the quiet moments spent solving them—small reminders of patience and perseverance that mirrored her approach to life.
Her character was defined by a caring, giving, and loving spirit. Janice’s kindness knew no bounds, and her willingness to help others—whether driving friends to appointments or lending a listening ear—set a standard of selflessness that inspired all who knew her. Her passion for helping others and her unwavering support for family, friends, and neighbors formed the cornerstone of her remarkable life.
Janice was the beloved daughter of Lester and Imogene Gray, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her sister, Sue Gray, and her cherished granddaughter, Sarah Ann Jordan. Her memory will continue to be treasured by those she leaves behind: her loving daughters, Tamra (Mark) Jordan, Nancy Wesley, and Brenda (Jason) Roberts; her devoted son, Alan McCormick; 11 grand children; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; and her dear brother, Jim (Paula) Gray.
The visitation for Janice Lee McCormick will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Cloverdale United Methodist Church, 364 W Robert Weist Ave, Cloverdale, IN. A funeral service will follow at the church at 1:00 PM, with a graveside service to be conducted at Ashboro Cemetery, 847 IN-59, Center Point, IN, at 2:30 PM.
Janice’s legacy is one of enduring love, quiet strength, and selfless devotion. While she will be deeply missed, her influence and example will forever remain in the hearts of all whose lives she so graciously touched.
