Janet Kay Gulden

March 19, 1948 — November 13, 2023

Greenfield, IN

Janet Kay Gulden, 75, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2023, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on March 19, 1948, in South Bend, IN, to the late Joseph Ward Simms and Carol Jean (Kurtz) Simms. After completing her education, receiving her bachelor’s from Indiana University, Janet worked for many years in the insurance field, assisting with the firm’s administrative and marketing needs.
Janet also had many joys in life, she was an avid reader who could enjoy almost every genre of literature. She loved listening to music and watching movies and became known by family members for always “knowing the who’s-who of Hollywood stars”.  Janet also was a football fan, cheering on her favorite team, the Alabama Crimson Tide with a “Roll Tide” each game. However, her greatest joy in life was the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who meant the world to her and who will all miss her very much.

Janet is survived by her son, Andrew (Lisa Meinczinger) Gulden; brother, Joseph Matthew (Kyle Ann) Simms; granddaughter, Samantha K. (Cullen) Wilson; grandson, Hunter J. Gulden; two great-grandchildren, Elijah Wilson and Wren Wilson; nephews, Brent Thompson, Jason (Jennifer) Thompson, Jason (Cathy) Sipe; as well as many beloved great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Judith Thompson.

A private family service will be held at a later date and time. Janet’s online guestbook and condolences can be shared online with the family at www.indianafuneralcare.com. Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
