In loving memory of Janet Bishop

August 13, 1944 - June 17, 2025

Janet Bishop(Mock), age 80, of Richmond, IN (originally Portland, IN) went home to be with the Lord in comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on August 13, 1944 in Portland, IN, Janet lived a life grounded in her unwavering faith in God. Her love for God was the foundation of everything. She did everything. She was a woman of extraordinary kindness, full of grace and whose gentle spirit touched everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family- whether that be gathered around the table, playing cards or offering life advice with tenderness and patience. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter and unconditional love and support.

She also shared a special bond with her cat, Boo, who rarely left her side. Their companionship brought Janet relief and happiness in her later years.

Janet is survived by her sister, Carolyn Sue Kopp(Mock), her brother, John(Sharon) Mock, her children, Cheryl Lay, Brenda(Joe) Wilson, her grandchildren, Michelle Bishop, Mindy Montgomery, Christina(Aaron) Shawver, Laura(Mike) Turley, and Mariah Lay, her great-grandchildren, Ava and Austin Bechtol, Amara and Antonio Crawford, Shakara-Kierra-Arianna Pearson, Jaiden and Cambria Bannister. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Bishop, her parents, Wallace and Leila Mock, and her brother, Bill(Beverly) Mock.

Details regarding her celebration of life will be released by Janet's loved ones at a later date.

Though she has gone to be with the Lord, the love she gave will live on in all who knew her.
