Jean Lee Shrum

Jean Lee Shrum passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and an enduring legacy of love, strength, and laughter.

Jean was born on October 1, 1933, to William and Grace Ada Bell and was one of twelve children. She shared a special bond with her twin sister, Joanne, that lasted a lifetime. Growing up in a large family helped shape the strong, resilient, and spirited woman that everyone came to know and love.

Jean found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved playing bingo, poker, and euchre and continued enjoying card games and time with friends and family until she went home to Heaven. In her younger years, she especially loved spending time fishing, creating memories outdoors that she fondly cherished.

More than anything, Jean loved her family. Whether gathered around a table for a game of cards, sharing stories, or simply spending time together, she treasured every moment with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Jean was known for being feisty, outspoken, and full of personality. She spoke her mind, stood her ground, and loved fiercely. Her strength, wit, and unmistakable spirit brought smiles, laughter, and unforgettable moments to those fortunate enough to know her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, William and Grace Ada Bell; her devoted husband, Thurman "Sleepy" Shrum; her son, Richard Lundy; her daughter, Debra Killion; her grandson, Tommy Caluza; her faithful and beloved dog, Abby; and many cherished brothers and sisters.

Jean is survived by her loving twin sister, Joanne McPeak; her sisters, Donalou Beckley and Jayne Mansfield; her daughters, Carla Caluza (Steve Caluza), Cheryl McGaha (Jeff McGaha), and Tina Holt Chaplin (John Chaplin); her son, Ronnie Lundy (Phyllis Lundy); her son-in-law, Clifford Killion; along with many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

Services to honor Jean will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Indiana Funeral Care Greenwood Chapel located at 2433 East Main Street Greenwood, IN 46143. Visitation will take place from 1:30pm to 4:00pm with a service to follow at 4:00pm.

Though her presence will be deeply missed, her love, resilience, and countless memories will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. They find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with those who went before her and has found eternal peace in Heaven.

Jean's family invites all who knew and loved her to celebrate her life, remember her stories, and honor the remarkable woman whose love and spirit will never be forgotten.
