Jane Illyes Peterson

Jane Illyes Peterson, 79, passed away on November 22, 2025. Jane was born on May 11, 1946, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the daughter of the late David and Clarene Illyes. Jane earned a Master's Degree in speech pathology at Indiana State University and went on to work for the Indianapolis Public Schools for many years.

Jane was a faithful member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, she also enjoyed the Garden Club, Bowling, and visiting with the Ya Ya sisters from her Marshall High School days. She also loved family reunions at the Church in Marshall with good food and family.

Jane is survived by her sons; Michael and Jeffrey Peterson, sisters; Barbara Reedy and family and Margaret Price and family, and a brother; Robert "Bob" Illyes.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Saint Lawrence Catholic Church, located at 6944 E 46th St, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46226. The service is scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 11:00 am.
