Jana Marie Sapp

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our precious mother, Jana Marie Sapp, who left this earth on May 16, 2026, at the age of 71.

Jana was born on October 7, 1954, in Columbus, Indiana, to the late Herman “Sam” Sprague and Evie Marie Havron.

Jana possessed a rare and beautiful gift for making everyone feel seen, valued, and unconditionally loved. She found her greatest happiness in life’s simple pleasures, including fishing and gardening when she was able. She also enjoyed watching cooking shows and WWE wrestling, but above all else, her greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love and dedication will never be forgotten.

She will be deeply missed and forever carried in the hearts of her children, Samuel L. Sapp, Glenda M. Sapp, and Jonathan E. Sapp; her brother, Ray Brinker; along with a loving group of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Jana was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Karina Mischele Sapp, and her brother, Allen Sprague.

In keeping with Jana’s wishes, there will be no public funeral services. A private cremation will take place, and the family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
