James Adam Young Jr.

James A. Young Jr., age 70, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away surrounded by his family on February 9, 2026.James was born on July 20, 1955, in Illinois, and later made his home in Indianapolis.

A hardworking man through and through, James spent his career working in machine shops, where his dedication and work ethic earned the respect of those around him. He worked his entire life and never complained, always putting in an honest day’s work until his retirement.James was known for his kind heart and generosity. He would help anyone who needed it and would give his last penny to someone else without hesitation. Family meant everything to him, and his quiet strength and selflessness left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Shannon Young (Mike Graham) and Jennifer Young; his grandchildren, Jeremy Graham, Johnny Graham, Justin Graham, Jericho Graham, Rickie Chambers, Ryan Chambers, and Riley Kostic; and his great-grandchildren, Sophia Graham, Johnny Graham Jr., Nevaeh Graham, Jayce Graham, and Braxton Chambers.

James was preceded in death by his parents, his son James A. Young III, his grandson James Graham, and his former wife Tracy Young.James will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his generosity, hard work, and the love he had for his family.

Visitation is Friday, March 6, 2026, 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel.

Funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm with burial to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Greenwood, Indiana.
